I Love you, Man
4/5
Enjoyable. Strange to see Paul Rudd in the straight man role. Jason Siegel totally fits the Sydney role.

Somebody give Sam Rockwell the oscar right now. Phenomenal acting and very well directed. On my list of one of the best of the year.

The Hangover
4.5/5
Best comedy since the 40 year old virgin. Perfectly cast, and written. Ed Helms and Zack Galifinakis are stand outs.

Transformers 2: Revenge of the fallen
1/5
2.5 hours of shit blowing up, and annoying autobot twins. This movie is seriously flawed. I'm a Michael Bay fan, but he doesn't get a free pass on this one. Pure Garbage

Up
5/5
My first 5 star movie here. Flawless, so far the best movie of the year. Pixar once again does not disappoint.

Knowing
1.5/5
Movie was intrieguing for the first 20 minutes or so. The plane crash sequence was a stand out for me. The movie takes a total right turn and becomes dreadful. Note to all hollywood screenwriters, don't make surprise endings involving aliens.

Terminator: Salvation
2.5/5
Meh. So many plot holes and problems to really hold my attention. Sam Worthington was a stand out. Bale was OK. Script was really weak. Can't understand why Bale got so very method that he found a connection with this material enough to rip the DP a new ass. Unless that scene endeed up on the cutting room floor I didn't see anything worth kicking up that much of a fuss.

Body of Lies
3/5
Had my interest throughout the film, but in the end left me thinking that it was just OK. DiCaprio was good, Crowe seemed to phone in his performance.

Marley & Me
2/5
Marketed as a movie for the kids. Pretty heavy subject matter here, stabbing, death etc. Not for the kiddies.

Role Models
2.5/5
How can you go wrong with Paul Rudd in a leading role?... well you make Role Models. Mildy entertaining, but in the end forgettable. A total waste of Rudd.

I love movies about Hollywood and the film industry. I do think that they missed the mark on this one. DeNiro and the rest of the cast was great, but something just didn't sit well with me on this one.

Doubt
4/5
Acting 101. Great story and solid performances by all the principal actors. I love me some Philip Seymor Hoffman in creepy roles.

Hotel for Dogs
2/5
Brodie was dying to see this. It was what it was, a kid's movie. Not the worst movie that I've seen this year.

My Best Friend's Girl
1.5/5
It still ceases to amazing me why people think that Dane Cook is funny. Movie really felt that there was no script, just actors improving and relying on prat falls.

Gran Torino
2.5/5
I don't really get the acting buzz about Eastwood in this. His character was almost laughable. Movie was just OK, plot was totally implausable.

3/5
Movie seemed really forced and put together quickly. Josh Brolin was flawless as Bush. Unfortunately, the supporting cast were dreadful. The biggest standout being Thandie Newton and Condelezza Rice. Hands down, the worst performance of the year; and I've seen a Dane Cook movie.

Frost/Nixon

Great drama, not sure why it is being considered for Best picture. Maybe if I around during the interviews I would understand.

John C. Reilly rarely dissapoints. Both Rielly and Sean William Scott gave great performances in this dark comedy.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
3.5/5
Being a huge Fincher fan, I was on pins and needles waiting to see this. Movie was good, visual fx were outstanding. I think that I would have enjoyed it more if I didn't watch Slumdog Millionaire the night before

Slumdog Millionaire
4.5/5
Incredible. The movie lived up to all of the hype. Flawless direction from Danny Boyle, stellar story, acting and the best movie score that I've heard since Fight Club. My pick for one of the best of 2008

The Wrestler
4/5
A change of pace for director Darren Aronofsky. By shooting the movie more like a documentary, he allowed the acting to stand out front and center. Mickey Rourke was truly outstanding in the role, living up to the pre oscar hype.

Seven Pounds
3.5/5
Interesting premise to the movie, but the execution of the story could have been handled better. I really had a hard time understanding the motivation oF Will Smith's character until the payoff was revealed. Smith was good in the role, I much prefer him when he loses the ego. I can forsee the wife crying hysterically watching this.

Chapter 27
2.5/5
Solid performance by Jared Leto. Movie needed major work in the editing phase. The inclusion of Lindsay Lohan's character must have been a decision by the studio, as her role offered nothing to the plot. Great portrayal of a seriously demented individual by Leto.

Wanted
4.5/5
Loved it!. This was a movie that I really didn't expect much of after seeing the trailer. Great mix between Fight Club and the Matrix. After watching this, I am now really interested in watching the Night Watch series from the director.

Eagle Eye (2008)
3/5
Great direction & cinematography however I feel that I've seen this movie before in another form. Solid performances, but the movie just kind of falls flat.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno
4.5/5
Another solid effort from Kevin Smith. One of my favorites of the year. Rogan again is on top of his game. Great performances from both Jason Mewes & Craig Robinson.

The Cohen Brothers follow up to "No Country for old men". Back to the quirky style that they have grown their careers on, the movie was another solid addition to their collection. Loved Brad Pitt as Chad, the go getter personal traininer. Clooney was also great here.

The Rocker is exactly what it comes across as. No surprises here. Not hilarious, but entertaining. Without Rainn Wilson, it would be a pass. All hail the mighty Vesivius! Will Arnett is always comic gold.

One of the worst movies that I have EVER seen. Writing, directing, acting was so sub-par. Shamalan should really pack it in.
